Area Sales Manager

Job Title:                               Area Sales Manager

Reporting to:                        Director of sales

Overall Job Purpose:          After an initial period in internal sales and support,the Area Sales Manager will be assigned one or more territories within the UK and or Europe. The ASM will then be responsible for developing sales in those areas, this includes the end to end initiation through to completion of the sale, and the ongoing after sales support of that customer.

The Role                                The role is based at our office in Droitwich, although extensive European travel can be expected. You will be joining a well established team.

KEY TASKS

  • Seek and develop new customers to generate sales.
  • Visit Customers to discuss potential requirements and enhance their understanding of our products and how we can help to develop and solve their business needs.
  • To be the main point of contact for customers requiring product information
  • Organise own diary to accommodate customer meetings
  • Receive specifications and prepare quotations
  • Manage the sales negotiation process
  • Follow up on Customer orders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Produce and issue internal contract documentation
  • Produce quotation and proposal documentation ensuring accuracy of the document prior to submission.
  • Build close relationship with the customer to maintain after sales support
  • Work collaboratively with internal Engineering team to ensure effective service to the customer
  • Visit and maintain Agent relationships where appointed.

GENERAL GUIDE

Qualifications:          Minimum: Formal Mechanical / Electrical engineering qualification

Experience:              Ideally capital equipment sales experience, and/or with an electrical engineering background, strong project management capability to deal with projects in excess of £1M.

Qualities:                   High level of self-sufficiency and self-motivation.

Well organised.

Results orientated.

Outgoing with good verbal communication skills, an ability to relate to and gain trust of all, from Factory owners to their employees. Good attention to detail. Flexible approach to suit customer’s needs. Good written communication skills

Other:                        Must be prepared to travel within the UK and Europe (this could be for up to 60% of the time).
